O2 4G comes to Tuxford, Boston and Inverbervie

24th May 2017

O2 4g coverage

At this rate, there soon won’t be many places in the UK where you can’t get O2 4G, as following other recent roll outs in the likes of Market Drayton, Melton, and Lairg and many more locations, the network has now brought 4G speeds to Inverbervie in Aberdeenshire, Tuxford in Nottinghamshire and Boston in Lincolnshire.

Speaking to Lincolnshire Live, Derek McManus, chief operating officer at Telefonica UK said: "I'm delighted that O2 customers in Boston will soon be able to experience faster mobile internet making everything easier when using their phone or tablet. They'll be able to stream high definition TV, shop on the go and use video calling.

"For our business customers, using 4G means they can be more effective and flexible by working remotely, accessing cloud services and collaborating using apps."

For these reasons the upgrade works are sure to be appreciated, especially in Inverbervie, as this area has no 4G from Three or Vodafone (though Vodafone is planning improvement works in the region soon), and only partial outdoor coverage from EE.

Tuxford meanwhile has better coverage, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement, with the region offering strong Vodafone 4G and mixed EE 4G but no Three 4G.

Boston is perhaps the best served, with strong 4G coverage from EE both indoors and out, and fairly solid 4G coverage from both Vodafone and Three as well.

O2 meanwhile is now at over 78% UK population coverage with 4G, and you can expect that figure to shoot up over the rest of the year, as it has a regulatory requirement to reach at least 98% population coverage by the end of 2017 – something which no other network needs to do.
