Tesco Mobile has partnered with O2, which means it has the same coverage as that network – namely comprehensive 3G coverage and around 99% population coverage with 4G, so you’re likely to get a good signal.
But Tesco Mobile also has some key advantages of its own, most notably low prices and a range of SIM-only tariffs, covering 30 days and 12 months, giving you a choice of extreme flexibility with the shorter contracts or big savings with the longer ones.
Tesco Mobile puts value first, and that’s clear in the low pricing of its plans – you don’t get much in the way of extras, but nor are you paying for things that you might not use.
Tesco Mobile also saves you money by capping your spending, so you won’t accidentally exceed your allowances.
Tesco Mobile lets you use your allowances at no extra cost in 48 destinations, mostly those within the EU.
There’s no limit to the amount of data you can use for tethering on Tesco Mobile (other than your general monthly allowance), so you can get more out of your contract by using it to get tablets, laptops and other devices online.
There are two ways to keep your number, and they’re both simple. Both also require you to get your PAC code from the network you’re leaving.
Once you’ve done that, you can either fill in an online form or text PORT to 23424 from your temporary Tesco Mobile number. Then simply respond to the texts you get in reply, supplying them with your PAC code and the number you want to keep.
Tesco Mobile’s SIM cards fit any phone, you just stick the full-size card in if you need a standard SIM, or pop out the micro or nano cards if you need something smaller.
