We'd also recommend considering a 30-day rolling plan with no contract or credit check. They can prove significantly cheaper than a Pay As You Go plan and the only real difference is that they renew automatically if not cancelled.

Which networks offer unlimited data on Pay As You Go?

Three, Vodafone, GiffgaffiD Mobile, and Lyca Mobile all offer Pay As You Go bundles with unlimited data. These are true Pay As You Go plans with no credit check, but after that we've also decided to take a look at the networks that offer similar bundles on 30-day rolling plans that aren’t strictly classed as Pay As You Go.

Giffgaff offers a few different unlimited data bundles, but only one of them fully fits our definition of Pay As You Go.

That’s its ‘80GB Always On’ bundle, which costs £25 for 30 days, and also gives you unlimited minutes and texts. It’s unusual though in that while it offers 5G speeds, you only get that for the first 80GB, after which it will drop to a mere 384kbps between 8am and midnight.

There’s also another £25 bundle which gives you 100GB of ‘Always On’ data and a £35 bundle which comes with truly unlimited data, but these are only accessible if you set them to recur each month – which Pay As You Go doesn’t typically require. However, there’s still no contract, so you can cancel them at any time.

All three bundles also come with EU roaming – up to a 5GB fair usage limit.

iD Mobile’s unlimited data Pay As You Go bundle is a bargain at just £20 for a 30-day duration. As with other networks you also get unlimited minutes and texts here, and you can roam across the EU and beyond at no extra cost (up to a 30GB fair usage limit).

Lyca Mobile offers a 30-day unlimited data bundle for £30 and another for £25 (but temporarily reduced to £9.99 for the first six months at the time of writing).

In both cases you get 5G, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts. EU roaming is included too, with a 35GB fair use limit. You also get international minutes included, with 100 such minutes to dozens of destinations on the £25 plan, and 500 international minutes on the £30 one.

Networks offering unlimited data on 30-day bundles that automatically renew

O2, EEAsda Mobile, Lebara, Smarty, Tesco Mobile, and VOXI all also offer unlimited data bundles with no contract.

These networks don’t advertise their unlimited data bundles as being Pay As You Go, instead listing them as SIM-only, but as these plans only last 30 days, don’t tie you in, and in many cases don’t require a credit check, they’re very similar and are worth considering. At the time of writing the only ones that do require a credit check are O2, EE, and Tesco Mobile.

The only thing to watch out for is that they will typically automatically renew each month, whereas true Pay As You Go bundles won’t unless you opt into them doing.

O2

O2 offers a 30-day SIM Only plan with unlimited 5G data, unlimited minutes, and unlimited texts. O2 is also rare among major networks in offering inclusive roaming as standard (up to a 25GB fair usage limit). That said, this plan isn’t one of the cheapest options, at £36 per month, and its SIM Only plans require a credit check.

EE

On EE, you can get a couple of different 30-day SIM Only plans with unlimited data. The cheapest costs £33 at the time of writing, and tops out at 100Mbps speeds, while the other currently costs £36 and has uncapped speeds.

Beyond that they’re similar, with both also including unlimited minutes and texts, and both letting you gift data to other plans on your account. Note though that roaming isn’t free, and that its SIM Only plans will credit check you.

Asda Mobile offers a trio of unlimited data bundles, each lasting 30 days and with no contract. Where they differ is in their pricing and their speed.

The cheapest costs just £20 but limits you to 2Mbps speeds, then there’s a £22 one which lets you access speeds of up to 10Mbps, and a £24 one which is capped at 150Mbps. Only the last of those offers 5G speeds. All of those bundles also come with unlimited minutes and texts, as well as free roaming in the EU up to 5GB.

Tesco Mobile offers a 30-day unlimited data SIM Only plan for £30 per month, and this also comes with unlimited minutes and texts, and includes 5G.

While you can have this plan on your own, it’s designed as a ‘Family Pack’, with up to four additional family members able to get the same plan for just £10 per month. There aren’t any significant fair usage limits on Tesco Mobile either, and the network is offering inclusive EU roaming until at least 2025. Be aware however that this network carries out credit checks for SIM Only plans.
