O2 has extensive 4G coverage, currently hitting around 99% of the UK population. And where 4G isn’t available 3G should be, as O2 has almost complete population coverage for that too.
By choosing a SIM-only plan you’re also saving money and giving yourself more flexibility than you’d find on a handset contract, as you’re only committed for either one or twelve months.
O2 offers a wide and ever changing range of deals, freebies and offers through its Priority service, which is exclusive to customers.
If you’re a music fan you can also often get gig tickets early through O2, and whatever you’re into you’re sure to benefit from O2’s network of over 15,000 Wi-Fi hotspots – which customers can use completely free of charge.
O2 also offers both Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling, the latter letting you call and text over Wi-Fi and the former over 4G.
O2’s SIM Only plans all let you roam across the EU at no extra cost and some also come with access to the ‘O2 Travel Inclusive Zone’, letting you use your data (along with 120 daily minutes and texts) in 27 additional locations, including the US and Australia.
O2 allows you to use your data for tethering on all SIM-only contracts. There are no charges and no caps – other than your standard data allowance.
Simply sign up for an O2 contract, then request your PAC code from your old network. Once you have both that and your new, temporary O2 number, you just need to fill in the keep my number form. The actual transfer should happen the next working day if this is done before 5:30pm.
O2’s SIM cards fit in any size SIM slot, you just need to pop out the size that’s right for you.
