The ZTE 5G Hub is your gateway to Three’s 5G home broadband service, as it’s the one and only home broadband router sold by the network at the time of writing. Fortunately, it’s a good one.
It supports theoretical download speeds of up to 3.8Gbps – though Three’s network currently tops out at a still very fast 1Gbps, while average speeds are generally in the region of 100-200Mbps.
For comparison, BT’s basic fibre option only offers 35-36Mbps speeds, and even two tiers up on its Fibre 2 plan your speeds will range between 58-73Mbps, so even Three’s average speed here is dramatically faster than most fibre services.
The ZTE 5G Hub is impressive for upload speeds too, topping out at 542Mbps, and it has all the tech and features you’d expect, including support for Wi-Fi 6, two Ethernet ports, two antenna ports, and the ability to get up to 30 devices online at once – so that’s enough for a whole house full of gadgets.
Like other 5G home broadband routers the ZTE 5G Hub also doesn’t require a landline, and nor will you need to arrange for an engineer to install it – just wait for the Hub to arrive in the post then follow the simple setup instructions. Even the tech averse should be able to get this up and running in minutes.
