Lyca Mobile offers multiple different unlimited data SIM Only plans at the time of writing, including a 24-month plan, a 12-month option and a 1-month rolling plan. These all include unlimited minutes and texts, plus 100 international minutes that can be used to call dozens of countries, such as the US, China, Australia, Canada, France, India, and many others.
There are also ‘Plus’ versions of these plans which instead give you unlimited international minutes.
All of these plans also come with 5G support, free roaming included in the EU (and in some cases India and China), and eSIM support.
As some are just 30 days long, Lyca Mobile’s unlimited data plans are super convenient and flexible, because if your data needs change – or you simply find a better deal elsewhere – you’re free to change or cancel your plan at any time.
But the biggest reason to choose Lyca Mobile is the inclusion of international minutes, no matter which unlimited data plan you choose. So it’s a great option if you want to be able to call abroad frequently, and if you’re really calling internationally a lot there’s the option to get unlimited international minutes.
Free roaming on top of that is a nice perk too, especially if you get a plan that lets you roam in India or China, as not many networks provide this inclusively.
Plus, you get EE’s coverage in the UK with Lyca Mobile, so wherever EE has a 5G or 4G signal, Lyca Mobile will too.
Lyca Mobile notes on some of its plans that “using a significantly large amount of data, such as around 450GB” is prohibited under its fair usage terms. But it’s very unlikely that you should ever approach 450GB of data use in a month if you’re using your plan for personal use.
Some of its other plans are vaguer, simply saying that use should be non-commercial and not excessive.
Outside of that, Lyca Mobile’s unlimited data plans are unlimited in the UK, but note that there's a variable roaming cap depending on which unlimited data plan you choose.
You can tether on Lyca Mobile and if you have an unlimited data plan then the only limitation is its general fair use terms – the main thing being that you should keep your usage under 450GB per month.
Aside from that, you’re free to use as much data as you like on tethered laptops, tablets, and other gadgets.
However, Lyca Mobile does state on some of its plans that you shouldn’t use its SIM cards in devices other than a phone, so they aren’t suitable for mobile broadband routers.
Lyca Mobile’s unlimited data plans include free roaming in the EU and in some cases India and China, but there is a fair usage cap when doing this.
The cap depends on your plan, and at the time of writing is a maximum of 35GB per month, and on plans where roaming in China is included, this is likely to be subject to a separate, lower cap. These limits may change though, so we’d recommend checking the terms and conditions for the plan you’re considering on Lyca Mobile’s own site.
Yes, Lyca Mobile offers some unlimited data Pay As You Go bundles, with similar perks and restrictions to the bundles detailed above. The network’s unlimited data SIM Only plans should be suitable for most users too, since you can choose not to be tied into a lengthy contract.
Alternatively, you can Pay As You Go at rates of 25p per minute, 23p per text, and 15p per megabyte. Though calls and texts to other Lyca Mobile phones are free for 30 days after each top-up, up to a fair usage limit of 3,000 minutes and 3,000 SMS per 30-day period. After that they cost 9p per minute and 22p per text.
There are plenty of networks that offer unlimited data plans aside from Lyca Mobile. These include Three, EE, O2, Vodafone, 1pMobile, Asda Mobile, Giffgaff, Lebara, iD Mobile, Sky Mobile, Smarty, Tesco Mobile, Talkmobile, and VOXI.
