The recently announced Nokia Lumia 625 has two key selling points- a big 4.7 inch screen and 4G support. It’s no surprise then that EE - currently the only network in the UK to offer 4G, plan to make the handset available.

Unfortunately EE is yet to announce when the handset will be available from them or how much it will cost, but it’s a budget handset with a likely price of around £200 SIM free.  So the Nokia Lumia 625 is probably going to be one of the cheaper phones available from EE and one of the very cheapest 4G phones money can buy - which is really the most exciting thing about it.

Commenting on the unveiling of the Nokia Lumia 625, Nicola Shenton, Head of Devices at EE said:

“4G is incredibly important for the future of mobile in the UK, and EE is at the forefront. With the new Lumia 625, Nokia is helping to bring even more affordable, quality 4G devices to the market which will ensure 4G experiences are available to a broader audience.”

EE also took the opportunity to confirm that the Nokia Lumia 625 will be available on its Orange and T-Mobile brands.

Aside from having 4G and a 4.7 inch screen the Nokia Lumia 625 is a fairly typical low end Windows Phone 8 handset, with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera, 8 GB of built in storage and a micro SD card slot. Don’t expect wonders from the screen as while it’s large it only has a 480 x 800 resolution, but assuming that EE price it right the Nokia Lumia 625 should be a great way to get 4G on a limited budget.
