EE Launches Film Club, offering big name movies at big discounts

The popular Orange Wednesdays promotion which gave customers two-for-one cinema tickets has come to an end, but in its place EE is offering its customers (including Orange and T-Mobile ones) access to EE Film Club.

EE Film Club is a new service which launches on 30th March and allows users to get a £1 movie rental every week from Wuaki.tv.

To claim a £1 rental you just text ‘film’ to 141 and then you’ll receive a code which can be redeemed Monday to Wednesday on a range of new releases, HD movies, blockbusters and classics. The text will cost 35p and you’ll have 48 hours to watch a film once you’ve redeemed the code.

While the move from the big screen to smaller ones may be disappointing to some it makes a lot of sense. EE has found that one in three UK adults now download or stream a TV show or film at least once a week, while over 50 percent access content in this way at least once a month.

Pippa Dunn, Chief Marketing Officer at EE, said: “More people than ever before are downloading and streaming movies so they can watch at home or on the go.

With 1 in 3 UK adults enjoying digital entertainment every week - and this number is only going to grow - our viewing habits are clearly evolving. This reaffirms our commitment to put customers first as we deliver a series of new offers in 2015. The new weekly £1 film offer launches at the end of March and is set to be a box office hit with our customers.”

Apparently the majority of new film releases and all other film rentals will be available as part of the promotion, so there should be a great selection available and you have the added convenience of being able to stream to whatever device you want and watch the films whenever you want.

Wuaki.tv is compatible with computers, laptops, consoles, tablets, smartphones and smart TV’s, as well as the new EE TV box and Google Chromecast, so it really is versatile. All you need is an internet connection and the app.
