Apple iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 – Unveiling in March

15th January 2013
Apple iPad Mini and iPad 5
The latest insider news is that Apple will be launching the Apple iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 sometime in March this year. This is earlier than many may have expected but Apple have moved on from their annual updates of both phones and tablets in an attempt to keep ahead of its competition as the need for better processors, display screens and battery saving techniques improve at an ever increasing pace.   The latest rumour comes via AppleInsider who seem to have knowledge from a source that the Apple iPad 5 and  iPad Mini 2 will be unveiled in March. Of course, the iPad 4 and the iPad Mini come with 4G connectivity so the new iPad 5 and  iPad Mini 2 will too.   iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 – how they are shaping up ? At the current time not a great deal about either is known or rumoured. However, the new iPad 5 is rumoured to be both lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 and is likely to be powered by the new A6X mobile processor and Apple’s Lightning chip. In addition, we have heard before that it is also rumoured that the iPad 5 will feature a higher resolution Retina display as yet unconfirmed.   Meanwhile, the iPad Mini 2 is rumoured to be more of an upgrade than a new model. It is possible this will come with a faster mobile processor and an updated, improved main camera. No news to-date on the iPad Mini 2’s display but we are aware that this is one area where Apple has been criticised i.e. by the lack of a HD Retina display.

4G.co.uk expect the leaks and rumours regarding the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 to escalate as we near both Mobile World Congress in Barcelona ( 8th February ) and the announcement in March this year.
