HTC One mini
Don’t let the Mini name fool you though, with a 4.3 inch 720 x 1280 display it’s hardly small and with a pixel density of 342 pixels per inch it’s got a fairly high quality screen too.
That quality extends to the look of the handset in general, which while a slight step down from the HTC One still heavily uses aluminium for a premium design.
With a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM the HTC One Mini isn’t quite such a powerhouse as its big brother but its specs are still more than adequate for general mixed use.
The 16GB of built in storage may be a sticking point for some, as while 16GB isn’t bad it’s not a huge amount either and as the HTC One Mini doesn’t have a micro SD card slot there’s no opportunity to increase the storage.
Running Android 4.2.2 the HTC One Mini is almost on the latest version of Google’s OS and it has the same 4 Ultrapixel camera as the HTC One, which makes it capable of taking good low light shots. It can also shoot 1080p video at 30fps and has a 1.6 megapixel front facing camera which can shoot 720p video.
The HTC One Mini has an 1800 mAh battery which promises up to 692 hours of standby time or 13 hours and 20 minutes of talk time. In terms of connectivity options it has Ultrafast 3G, 4G LTE and Bluetooth 4.0; however it lacks NFC and infrared.
HTC One mini Release Date & Price
The HTC One Mini is out now and available SIM free in black or silver from around £360. That’s a similar price to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which is likely to be its closest competitor.
On a 24 month contract the HTC One Mini can be had with 4G for £31 a month from EE, with no upfront cost. On Vodafone it’s available for free with 4G from £34 per month and on O2 it costs £37 a month to get the HTC One Mini on a 24 month 4G contract with no charge for the phone itself. On a 24 month 3G contract the HTC One Mini can be yours from around £22 a month.
