Sony Xperia SP
It has a 4.6 inch 720 x 1280 display with a pixel density of 319 pixels per inch, which is big and high resolution enough to further make the Sony Xperia SP look like a high end handset.
The only reason it’s not high end (aside from the mid range price tag) is that it’s not enormously powerful, with just a dual-core processor- albeit one clocked at 1.7 GHz and just 1GB of RAM. That’s not bad by any means, but it’s no match for the quad-core Sony Xperia Z.
The Sony Xperia SP has 8GB of built in storage, which isn’t a huge amount, but as it has a micro SD card slot with support for cards of up to 32GB it doesn’t matter too much.
It runs Android 4.1, which is a couple of minor releases behind now and it has an 8 megapixel camera which can take quite good photos as well as being able to shoot 1080p video at 30fps. The Sony Xperia SP also has a VGA camera on the front for video calls and self portraits.
It has a 2370 mAh battery, which is quite big, especially for a mid range phone and promises battery life of up to 734 hours in standby, 19 hours of calls or 39 hours of music. The Sony Xperia SP supports Ultrafast 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.
All in all it’s a great combination of premium design and reasonable specs for a fairly low price.
