Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – 4G Phone

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is a big, in your face handset with specs to match. It was Samsung’s second foray into the giant world of phablets and it proved rather successful.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Intro

We’ve made it clear that this is a big phone, but to be more specific it has a 5.5 inch 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED display. The pixel density of 267 pixels per inch is reasonable if nothing to write home about, but the Galaxy Note 2 is capable of bright images and rich colours, so things still look really good on the screen. 5.5 inches might sound a bit big to easily use, but Samsung thought about that and has included a handy ‘S Pen’ stylus to help you make full use of it.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a powerful 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, so you can multi-task to your heart’s content without slowing it down. It also has a choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of built in storage along with a micro SD card slot that supports cards of up to 64GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 makes a pretty decent camera too, with an 8 megapixel sensor, a 1.9 megapixel secondary snapper and the ability to shoot 1080p video at 30fps.

Running Android 4.1.2 it’s a couple of minor releases behind, but with Samsung’s feature packed TouchWiz interface on top you’re not likely to notice. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 also has a 3100 mAh battery to keep it going all day and all night and it supports Ultrafast 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Release Date & Price

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is out now (in fact it’s been out for a while and will soon be superseded by the Samsung Galaxy Note 3). It’s available in white or grey from around £350, putting it in competition with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, the HTC One Mini and the Nokia Lumia 925 among other things, though unlike any of them the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a massive screen.

It’s also available on a 24 month Ultrafast 3G contract from £26 a month with Three, while 4G contracts can be found from £47 a month on Vodafone with the handset included for free or from £46 a month on EE with a one off charge of £29.99 for the phone.
