Vodafone recently launched a 4G pay as you go service . We reported on it at the time, highlighting the fact that you can get a £20 Freedom Freebee with 2GB of 4G data, 500 minutes and unlimited texts valid for 30 days, or a £30 one with 4GB of 4G data, unlimited texts and unlimited minutes or at the top end a £40 one with 6GB of 4G data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts.
But if you’re wondering how to actually get started with 4G on pay as you go Vodafone’s created a video to help you out.
As you can see, the first thing you’ll need to do is make sure you have a 4G compatible handset. If you don’t then at just £79 the Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo is an affordable choice, though if you’ve got the money there are far better options, such as the iPhone 6 or HTC One M8.
Once you’ve got a 4G phone you should head over to Vodafone.co.uk/4G to see if you’re in a 4G area and don’t forget we’ve got our own Vodafone 4G coverage page too, so keep an eye on that for updates.
Then of course you’ll need to head to the Vodafone website or in store to get a 4G SIM card. Or if you’re an existing customer you can just call ‘4354’ to order one.
You’ll then need to buy one of the Freedom Freebee’s we highlighted above and it’s worth bearing in mind that if you opt for a £30 or £40 one then you’ll also get access to Sky Sports Mobile TV or Spotify Premium, which is a great way to make the most of your 4G speeds.
To get started with either of those just follow the link you’ll get in a text from Vodafone, pick the one you want and set up an account. And that’s all there is to it. You’re now ready to enjoy high speed 4G data on Vodafone.
