Wembley Stadium Launches Mobile App As Part Of Partnership With EE

EE has recently partnered with Wembley Stadium to provide the site with superfast 4G and Wi-Fi, implement mobile ticket solutions and overall make it the most connected stadium in the world.

Part of that initiative extends beyond the site itself and takes the form of a new Wembley Stadium app. The app is designed to improve the experience of visiting Wembley Stadium, starting with ticketing information, through to a national travel planner, making it as easy as possible to get to and from the stadium.

There’s also a feature which lets you check the view from your seat, so you’ll know what you’re in for before you even arrive and there’s an interactive map to help you find your way around once you get to the stadium.

The app even includes a dynamic feed of event content, with the latest news, videos, images and audio from the stadium.

Spencer McHugh, Director of Brand at EE said: “We worked with Future Platforms to deliver an app that places the stadium visitor at the heart of the experience, facilitating and complimenting the Wembley ‘sofa to seat’ experience. As the first touch point of EE’s exciting new partnership with Wembley we wanted to showcase the benefits that this collaboration can bring from day one and there is lots more to come in 2014 and beyond.”

Indeed some of EE’s future plans have already been announced, as audience participation, location based offers and digital queue management are all apparently in the works for the app.

But the app itself is just the first step in bringing Wembley Stadium into the 21st century. Rob Ray, FA Group Director of Digital & Information technology, said: “The Wembley app represents the first of many fan focussed experiences that the Wembley connected by EE partnership is set to deliver. We look forward to working with EE to deliver an unparalleled connected experience for our event owners and their fans.” So with this partnership you can expect a lot more from Wembley Stadium in the coming months and years.

The Wembley Stadium app is free and available to download now from Google Play and the Apple App Store, so if you’re planning a trip to the stadium anytime soon it’s well worth getting.
