Wadebridge, Bangor and more are getting Vodafone 4G

Vodafone’s 4G rollout is going into overdrive, as the network is currently working on bringing it to five new places.

Bridlington is the first to benefit. The network started its 4G upgrade work there in late February according to the Bridlington Free Press and it’s already complete.

Bangor, Llandudno and Rhyl meanwhile should all be getting a Vodafone 4G boost over the next three months according to the Daily Post.

Currently this region is lagging well behind the rest of the UK when it comes to 4G coverage, so the upgrade is sorely needed.

Wadebridge will likely be the last of these locations to get an upgrade, as a new mast is needed. But according to the Cornish Guardian, Vodafone is seeking planning permission to replace a mast in the Wadebridge area and enable 4G coverage. So hopefully residents and visitors to the area will be able to take advantage of 4G speeds before too long.

EE, O2 and Three all already have 4G coverage in Bridlington, so with the addition of Vodafone it’s a full house. Wadebridge however currently has no 4G from O2 or Three and only very weak coverage from EE.

Bangor, Rhyl and Llandudno meanwhile have at least partial 4G coverage from EE and Three, but none from O2.

For Vodafone’s part these upgrades are just the latest in a long line of 4G improvement works. The network recently also brought it to Thornbury, Telford, Paignton and Helston. As well as working to improve its 4G coverage in Leeds, Bradford and Leicester. These upgrade works are part of approximately £2 billion that Vodafone is spending on improving its network and services right across the UK.
