Suburban Town of Milnrow Gets 4G

27th March 2017

O2 4G Milnrow

One of the latest towns to get 4G is the suburban town of Milnrow near Rochdale. Milnrow lies on the River Beal in the South Pennines and its 14,000 residents will soon be able to benefit from O2’s super fast 4G.

O2 has confirmed it will be upgrading its network to 4G between 28th March to 29th March. The mobile operator will also take the opportunity to upgrade its 2G and 3G network during the same period as covered by the "Rochdale News".

“I’m delighted that O2 customers in Milnrow, will soon be able to experience faster mobile internet making everything easier when using their phone or tablet. They’ll be able to stream high definition TV, shop on the go and use video calling. For our business customers, using 4G means they can be more effective and flexible by working remotely, accessing cloud services and collaborating using apps.” Said Derek McManus, Chief Operating Officer, O2 UK.

There is a possibility that a small number of Freeview customers may notice some interference once 4G goes live and are advised to contact AT800 who have been appointed to resolve any such issues. See here.

The launch of 4G in Milnrow follows recent launches in Callington and Wick as O2 drives forward with its 4G implementation programme.
