Plusnet Mobile has arrived to shake up the 4G scene, with very low prices and short-term contracts, so you’re not tied in. As an EE MVNO it also had widespread 4G coverage, accounting for over 97% of the UK population, so it’s off to a strong start.
Not that this is the start really, as Plusnet Mobile is actually a rebranding of LIFE Mobile – but with all new plans.
These start at £5 per month for 500MB of data, 250 minutes and 500 texts, but you can also get 1GB of data, 1000 minutes and unlimited texts for £7.50 per month, 2GB of data, 1500 minutes and unlimited texts for £10 per month, or 4GB of data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts for £15 per month.
Right now those are the only plans offered by Plusnet Mobile – so it’s not for heavy users or those who want a phone included in their contracts, but it keeps things simple, and all plans are just 30 days long, so you can change between them with less than a month’s notice.
If you pre-register ahead of the network’s full launch on 29th November you can also get a discount on the 4GB plan, dropping it to £10 per month, for even better value.
Even better deals will be available to existing Plusnet broadband customers, who will be offered ‘Mates Rates’ with double the data on all standard plans.
If you’re currently on LIFE Mobile it doesn’t look like you’ll get anything extra, but you’ll be seamlessly moved to Plusnet Mobile on the 29th November.
Plusnet’s offering is clearly a budget-focused one, with seemingly none of the extras offered by major networks – like EE’s double speed 4G or Three’s Feel At Home, but with vast coverage and low prices it could be enough to tempt deal hunters.
