Apple iPad With Retina Display ( iPad 4 )

The Apple iPad with Retina Display (aka the iPad 4) is Apple’s most recent full fat tablet. Thanks to its aluminium back it looks just as premium and stylish as other Apple devices, but at 662g it’s quite heavy, even compared to most other tablets.

Apple iPad With Retina Display Review

Apple iPhone 5 Review Our Apple iPad With Retina Display Review concluded “Apple has improved on the iPad for this fourth generation. There’s a beefier processor to go nicely with the 4G support, and sharper images from the FaceTime camera. Still needs to be easier to carry around”.

Apple iPad With Retina Display

The iPad with Retina Display has a 9.7 inch 1536 x 2048 display with a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch. Not only is it high resolution, it also produces stunning images, with natural colours and good contrast.

The iPad with Retina Display has a dual-core 1.4 GHz Apple A6X processor and 1GB of RAM, which, prior to the announcement of the iPhone 5S, made it the most powerful iDevice available. It’s fast and slick, experiences almost no slowdown and can boot up in a matter of seconds.

It’s available with a choice of 16, 32 or 64GB of built in storage and as there’s no micro SD card slot you should think carefully about which model to go for.

The iPad with Retina Display has a 5 megapixel camera, can shoot 1080p video at 30fps and has a secondary 1.2 megapixel front facing camera, all of which is solid enough for a tablet, but won’t be a threat to a high end smartphone.

One of the best things about the iPad with Retina Display (other than its screen and power) is its battery life. Its 11,560 mAh battery is absolutely enormous and keeps it going for days, even when it gets quite a lot of use.

The iPad with Retina Display supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Ultrafast 3G and 4G LTE.

Apple iPad With Retina Display Release Date & Price

The iPad with Retina Display is out now and available to buy in black or white from around £365 for the 16GB model. That’s around the same price as the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, making it a top end tablet.

Alternatively the iPad with Retina Display can also be purchased on a 24 month 4G-ready contract, with prices starting at £26 a month on Vodafone- though you’ll also have to pay £49 towards the iPad. That nets you 2GB of monthly data.

The iPad with Retina Display is also available with Ultrafast 3G from Three, with 24 month plans starting at £25 per month for 15GB of data, though again there’s an upfront cost, this time of £99.
