Mobile broadband technology is constantly evolving and each year faster connection speeds are made available to the public.  For a while, 3G has dominated the market, but now 4G wireless connections such as LTE enhanced have come to light.  These are expected to become mainstream within the next few years as the system is offered by various mobile providers.  It is important for networks to keep up to date with the latest mobile broadband services, as competition in the market is high and providers are constantly aiming to provide better deals and produce faster speeds over others in order to obtain their commercial advantage and attract more customers.

Over the next five years, mobile providers will introduce the use of HSPA+ connections followed by LTE in the following five years.  LTE has been released slowly throughout the world, and is becoming increasingly more popular.  HSPA+ is hoped to be the market leader within the next decade, so mobile providers are working this development and implementing the service to their customers.  The higher upload and download speeds allow for a better online experience and low costs are available for both the consumer and network, giving an advantage to everyone.  LTE is expected to generally available by 2014, although many providers will have already launched the service by then in order to keep up with competition.
