First 3G Metro Femtocell

The first 3G Metro Femtocell is now available as an outdoor solution in regions where there are few internet hotspots.  Femtocells have been developed in response to the increasing use of smartphones, as so many people log on to the internet whilst mobile.

3G allows people to access the web from their mobile device, whether on a train, in a car or walking.  It is very convenient when there are no WiFi hotspots available and when users are away from hotels, cafes or domestic hotspots.

The metro femtocells are a type of internet hotspot that offers voice calls as well as the use of online data wherever the user might be.  These are often found in the cities around the world, as well as train stations, music venues and even some rural places.  They have a very good range of up to 2km, for both when walking or in the car.  The system is cheap to install and easy to set up, so there is no hassle at all.

Public WiFis allow 2G and 3G connections to integrate together, so it doesn't matter what phone the user has, internet connection should prove easy.  Some 4G mobiles come with 4G wireless internet connections, the successor of the 3G versions.  These are not yet in general use, but there are a few phones on the market that already have this built in, so in a couple of year's time the development of 4G may expand and become popular.
