Cognitive, Cooperative & Opportunistic 4G Technology

John Wiley and Sons' latest edition of the book ‘Advanced Wireless Networks' discusses 4G wireless technology and the main issues which can affect it.  This book has been evaluated as offering an essential description of the importance of wireless networks in the future, along with the interconnection between their elements.

The main focus of the book is on cognitive, cooperative and opportunistic paradigms which offer an increase of network efficiency.  Additionally, ‘Advanced Wireless Technology' looks closely at the problems surrounding cross-layer optimisation and network information theory.  Furthermore it examines adaptability and reconfigurability within a wireless network.  The book also includes a discussion of security issues.

A strength of this book is that the information is arranged logically throughout the book and within each chapter, making it easy to find.  The information is presented from the general to the particular, and gradually includes more complex models and mathematical tools, chapter by chapter.  This makes it a good book for readers of a range of levels, from researchers to engineers to laymen.  The back of the book gives a complete list of references should you wish to further your reading on the topic.  Furthermore the book has been completely updated since the last edition, and includes five new chapters.   Finally, there is a website which accompanies the book, and includes extra information and an appendix on Queuing theory.
