Next Generation Technology to be Discussed at NGN & Basestations Conference

The yearly NGN & Basestations Conference in Bath, UK, will take place from April 19 - 23, 2010. Industry analysts from ABI Research, Ovum, Arete and Heavy Reading along with senior managements from Ofcom and GSMA will be in discussion with speakers from Telenor, Vodafone, O2, Telefonica, British Telecom, SFR, Orange, 3UK, Virgin Media, Digicel, Vimpleocom, Elisa, Mobilkom Austria, Globul and Elisa.
One of the main topics set for discussion will be the fact that an increasing amount of operators worldwide are in the process of putting base stations or femtocells into service. One such session, entitled 'Femtocells - the Next Phase' will be led by Vodafone's Head of New Technology, Kenny Graham. This leading operator is currently pushing the femtocell, Sure Signal, throughout the UK.
Other issues at the conference will be concerning claims being made by operators and vendors on the eco friendliness of Green Basestations and Networks and the Vice President of Marketing at picoChip, Rupert Baines, will be looking at Architecture for Next Generation Networks. A number of next generation technological areas will also be looked into, which includes WiMax.
Over each of the five days delegates from network vendors, operators, analysts and subsystem and chip providers will give up-to-date information on a range of issues including backhaul, LTE standards, spectrum reframing, mobile WiMAX, femtocells, 4G wireless, fixed and Mobile convergence VoIP and HSDPA.
