Following on from the Harrier Mini and the Harrier Mini, the operator has now launched the EE Harrier Tab, a 4G slate which is a step up from the earlier EE Eagle tablet but still fairly affordable.
The Harrier Tab has an 8.0-inch full HD display, a 1.5GHz octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing one, 16GB of built in storage, a microSD card slot and a 4650 mAh battery.
It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is Cat 4 enabled, meaning it can take advantage of EE’s double speed 4G network, as it’s capable of real world download speeds of 60Mbps, while the theoretical maximum is 150Mbps.
EE hasn’t confirmed what the slate is made from, but it looks like it has a grey plastic shell and with dimensions of 212.8 x 124 x 8.5mm it’s fairly slim. It’s also not overly heavy at 338g.

The Harrier Tab is available now for £199.99 on Pay As You Go or you can get it on a range of Pay Monthly plans. These start at £16 per month plus £29.99 upfront or £11 per month plus £149.99 upfront and either option will get you 2GB of monthly data.
Or for £18 per month plus £29.99 upfront or £13 per month plus £149.99 upfront you can get 10GB of 4GEE Extra data, which supports EE double speed where available and includes other goodies such as a two year digital subscription to The Telegraph.
Whichever option you choose the Harrier Tab seems impressively affordable, undercutting the 4G version of the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 and significantly undercutting the original iPad mini with 4G for example, yet it’s got a bigger screen and arguably better specs than either.
