The Vodafone Smart Prime 6 delivers impressive specs for well under £100

8th June 2015
Vodafone launches the Smart Prime 6 with a rock bottom price and solid specs Competition amongst entry level smartphones is fierce and at just £79 the Vodafone Smart Prime 6 is about as entry level as it gets, at least in price, but its specs are rather better than you’d expect for the money. The phone, which is out now, has a 5.0-inch 720 x 1280 display with a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. That’s a good start, leaving it with a large, crisp canvas. But that’s not the only impressive thing about it. The Vodafone Smart Prime 6 also has a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and 1GB of RAM. That’s a low-end spec but it’s one which phones twice the price have. Its software is up to date with Android 5.0 and it has a respectable 8 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front-facing one, along with the ability to shoot video in 1080p at 30fps. It’s 4G too, making it one of the most affordable phones to offer superfast mobile data, especially if you specifically want to get a handset on Vodafone. The Smart Prime 6 has just 8GB of built in storage, but you can bulk that up with a microSD card of up to 64GB. It doesn’t look high end but nor does it look cheap. It’s built from plastic, but it’s slim at 9mm thick and has metal keys, giving it a premium edge. It looks smart too, with a silver or grey colour scheme. Overall for the money it looks pretty hard to beat, just as long as you’re okay with using Vodafone. As well as being available for £79 on pay as you go the Vodafone Smart Prime 6 is also free on contracts from £17 per month, but whichever way you choose to get the phone it really does look like a bargain.
