Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 now on EE to buy

13th February 2015

Samsung’s latest metal phones are on their way to EE, where you can couple them with superfast 4G data.

EE has now confirmed it will be stocking the Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5

Both phones are available in black or white, with the Samsung Galaxy A3 coming free from £31.99 per month, with 2GB of data and unlimited minutes and texts.

You can also get it with up to 20GB of data for £43.49 per month, or lower your monthly costs to as little as £21.99 if you pay £49.99 upfront (though this tariff only comes with 500MB of data, 500 minutes and unlimited texts).

The Samsung Galaxy A5 is a little more expensive as you’d expect, coming free from £36.99 per month with 2GB of 4G data and unlimited minutes and texts. As with the Galaxy A3 you can get up to 20GB of data if you spend more (£48.49 per month in this case) or lower your monthly cost if you pay some money upfront.

They’re also both going to be available on Pay As You Go, with the Samsung Galaxy A3 costing £229.99 and the Galaxy A5 setting buyers back £299.99.

Both the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 have a slim metal unibody, a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 4G support and Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but that’s where the similarities end.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 has a 4.5-inch 540 x 960 display, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1900mAh battery, while the Galaxy A5 has a 5.0-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel rear snapper and a 2300mAh battery making it a substantially better phone overall.

Either handset would make a great choice though if you’ve been waiting for a truly premium Samsung phone and don’t want to wait for or splash out on the Galaxy S6, while EE’s speedy, widespread 4G network makes it one of the best networks to buy one on.
