Nokia Lumia 4G Phone Sales Upsurge

11th January 2013
Nokia Lumia 920Since the launch of the 4G enabled Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 we heard news that sales were performing well and that some retailers were running out of stock as demand exceeded the stock levels held by those retailers. But no physical sales figures had been officially released since the launch of the Lumia 920 and 820.   Nokia has reported its latest performance results for Q4 2012 and it is clear that Nokia have done better than expected as its shares rose 11% in Helsinki and 18.7% higher in New York. The Q4 sales figures include 4.4 million sales of Lumia smartphones. Total smartphone sales were 4 million in Q2, 2.9 Million in Q3 and 6.6 million in Q4   The trend is pretty clear – onwards and upwards and the key to the boost in Nokia’s fortunes is the new Lumia range and the Windows Phone 8 operating system. Of course, the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 are both 4G enabled phones and this means we expect Nokia to continue to blossom in 2013 with more 4G smartphone launches.   4G.co.uk are not totally surprised by how well the Lumias are selling as we have reviewed both the flagship model Lumia 920 and the Lumia 820 and had this to say about the Nokia Lumia “It is undeniable that this is a 4G handset packed full of features you’re just not going to get anywhere else”. Our Nokia Lumia Lumia 920 review and our Nokia Lumia 820 review can be read by following the links.   The total smartphone sales Nokia achieved in Q4 2012 was 15.9 million smartphones which included 4.4 million Lumia smartphones, 9.3 million Asha smartphones and 2.2 million Symbian smartphones. This is an excellent performance from Nokia.
