With a 5.0-inch 720p screen, 4G support and a low price the Microsoft Lumia 640 is one of the best value phones around and it’s just got a little bit better on EE, as the network has announced that it now offers WiFi Calling on the device.
As long as you buy the Lumia 640 through one of EE’s direct channels you’ll get it with WiFi Calling, allowing you to make calls over a Wi-Fi network, so you can stay in touch even when there’s no mobile signal. It’s one of the first handsets available with the service even on EE, so it’s an affordable way to get a taste of the future and it’s currently the only Windows Phone handset to offer it.
As well as exclusively offering the Lumia 640 with WiFi Calling, EE also exclusively sells it in cyan. The phone is available on a range of plans, starting at £16.99 per month with no upfront cost for 500MB of 4G data, 500 minutes and unlimited texts. Or from £19.99 per month with no upfront cost you can get it on a 4GEE Extra plan, which includes access to double speed 4G, inclusive calls and texts in the EU and inclusive calls to 0800 numbers. As well as those extras £19.99 per month will get you 1GB of 4G data, 500 minutes and unlimited texts.
There are various other plans to fit most budgets or needs, right up to 20GB of 4G data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts for £39.99 per month with no upfront cost. Of course with EE’s extensive 4G network you may not often find yourself in need of WiFi Calling, but the next time you end up out in the countryside or just in a signal black spot you’ll be happy to have it
