News has broken of a new 4G phone from LG called the LG Optimus G2. We have never heard of the Optimus G1 so this may just be a prototype name or something as the only Optimus G1 we have ever heard of is a “Transformers toy”. However, there was a phone called the LG Optimus G but this was for the US only.
The news broke via MKNews in Korea who indicated that the LG Optimus G2 will launch sometime in the first half of 2013 and rival the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S4. If that’s the case then the LG Optimus G2 must be coming with 4G and fully loaded too.
The specification leaked by the source says that the Optimus G2 will come with Android Key Lime Pie ( Android 5.0 ), a 5 inch touchscreen display with a resolution that is 150% clearer than the iPhone 5’s Retina display, a resolution of 1920 x 1080 providing a PPI of 440. We have recently heard that both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC Deluxe DXL 4G phones will also offer PPIs of 440.
The power for the LG Optimus G2 is rumoured to be via a 2GHz quad core processor, the main camera will be 10 megapixels plus and of course it will be 4G enabled. Nothing more on this currently but 4G will be tracking the 4G LG Optimus G2.
