Huawei were certainly busy at CES this year and unveiled a number of 4G enabled phones ( including one monster ). The company announced the over-sized Ascend Mate ( more here ) and its flagship model called the Ascend D2 ( more here ).
4G were half expecting the successor to the Ascend P1 to make an appearance as this was originally launched way back in June 2012 and is a bit dated by now. However, a new leak just in from the guys over at AndroidCommunity put some meat on the bones for the Huawei Ascend P2 including a leaked photo ( above ).
Huawei Ascend P2 – specification details leaked
The details leaked suggest the Huawei Ascend P2 comes with a 5 inch IPS touch-screen and a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The power is rumoured to come via its Quad-Core 1.8 GHz Hisilicon K3V2 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board memory. The main camera will be 13 megapixels and the secondary camera will be 1.3 megapixels which is for video calling.
The Huawei Ascend P2 is, of course, an Android phone and will come ready loaded with Android Jelly Bean ( Android 4.2 ) and is fired-up with 4G connectivity as you may expect for a smartphone launching at this time.
One downside is that the leaked reports say that there will be no support for microSD cards so we wonder if 8GB is really adequate these days. We will look at this when we undertake our Huawei Ascend P2 Review as soon as we can ge our hands on a review copy.
The latest information is that the Huawei Ascend P2 will be formally announced at next months Mobile World Congress in Barcelona so we won’t have long to await for official confirmation of the Huawei Ascend P2.
