O2 4G has arrived in Wisbech

The market town of Wisbech in Cambridgeshire just got a technological boost, as O2 has rolled out 4G in the area.

The upgrade work should be complete already according to the Wisbech Standard, as should improvement work to the network’s 2G and 3G services, so customers in the area will be able to make the most of their mobile phones, streaming, downloading and sharing faster than ever.

This is especially good news as until now no UK networks have offered 4G in Wisbech, so O2 is the first, even beating market leader EE to the punch.

Derek McManus, Chief Operating Officer, Telefónica UK said: “O2 customers in Wisbech can now experience faster mobile internet on their devices such as streaming high definition TV, shopping on the go, and video calling.

“For our business customers, 4G is all about working more effectively. For instance, they can work remotely, access cloud services and collaborate using apps. O2 4G can make everything easier for our customers.”

While the update work is theoretically finished if it has dragged on it’s possible that there could be intermittent signal during the upgrade, in which case customers can always use the O2 TU Go app to keep talking and texting over Wi-Fi.

This upgrade follows O2 4G rollouts in numerous other locations, with Dunstable and Belper among other places to benefit from it recently.
