EE brings MobileIron Cloud to the UK

MobileIron offers device security and management solutions for business users

As well as providing extensive 4G coverage to businesses UK-wide, EE is also focussed on providing them with device security and management solutions.

With that in mind the network has partnered with MobileIron, a leader in security and management for mobile content and devices, to bring MobileIron Cloud to the UK.

It’s a service which is currently exclusive to EE in the UK and in offering it EE has become the only UK mobile operator to provide business-grade security across all mobile operating systems in its corporate plans as standard.

Speaking of operating systems, MobileIron Cloud is compatible with Android, iOS and Windows Phone. We covered MobileIron in depth last month, explaining exactly what it does, but essentially it makes it easy for small and medium sized businesses to manage mobile apps, content and devices, enforce usage policies, enrol users and configure devices. In fact most of those things can be automated.

MobileIron Cloud can also be used to retire devices when they’re lost or stolen or when an employee leaves the company. Content can be distributed based on groups, devices or categories and it’s encrypted to keep it secure.

MobileIron Cloud also includes its own app catalogue with tools for expense reporting, travel booking and more.

Gerry McQuade, Chief Marketing Officer for Business at EE, said: “Security is essential if businesses want to become genuinely mobile without putting sensitive company data at risk. With partners like MobileIron, we’ve developed a portfolio of mobile security solutions that make it easier to manage mobile devices regardless of the operating system each device is running.”

With 4G taking off and making mobile working an increasingly important part of business it’s more important than ever that devices are easy to secure and manage, so MobileIron Cloud is the perfect partner to EE’s 4G service. It’s included in EE’s Super Secure 4GEE portfolio, which is designed to allow businesses of all sizes to manage and secure mobile devices and content.
