BT offers free 4G for small to medium sized businesses

BT Business Mobile has just got a whole lot better as it now includes 4G access along with unlimited BT Wi-Fi at no extra cost.

These extras come with all new plans, while existing customers will be able to take advantage of them when they renew.

4G is a perfect fit for BT Business Mobile plans, allowing users to quickly and easily view and download large files, such as documents and presentations, stream HD videos, collaborate with colleagues in real time and upload and download files from the cloud, ensuring that work is kept backed up and that company applications can easily be accessed on the move.

In other words it empowers employees to be every bit as productive while travelling or away from the office as they would be at their desk and BT uses EE for its 4G service, which means it’s got the most widespread 4G network in the UK, currently reaching around 73% of the population. Even when employees find themselves somewhere with no 4G, there’s a good chance there’ll be a BT Wi-Fi hotspot nearby, enabling them to stay in contact and keep on working.

Graham Sutherland, CEO, BT Business, said: “Our research shows that 24% of employees now work regularly out of the office. As part of our strategy to offer a portfolio that provides value for money and meets the changing needs of businesses, we’ve designed our new mobile plans to cater for this. Our new plans give customers the connectivity they need to help them stay productive when out and about, along with the flexibility to choose a plan that suits their way of working.”

There are a variety of new plans available, all of which come with 4G as standard. There are ‘Solo’ plans for individuals, with a variety of handsets to choose from, such as the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5.

Prices for these plans start from £17.50 per month (excluding VAT) for a Nokia Asha 503 with 500MB of data, 300 minutes and 300 texts and go up to £45 per month (excluding VAT) for an HTC One M8 or other top tier phone, with 10GB of data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts.

Or you can opt for a ‘Sharer bundle’, which includes minutes, texts and data that can be shared between anywhere from 3 to 1000 people and if your business has more than 1000 employees you can even add extra on top of that.

There are various options available, but prices start at £25 per month (excluding VAT) for a 3 user bundle with 500 minutes and 500 texts and go up to £3,100 for 1000 people with 50,000 minutes and 50,000 texts. Though data comes in at extra, with 5GB costing £50 on top all the way to 1TB for £10,000, plus there are additional extras in case you need to work abroad or add to your allowances.

Finally, if you don’t need a phone there are SIM only tariffs, which start at £17.50 per month, are on a 12 month contract and come with a choice of 1GB, 2GB or 5GB of data, 500 or unlimited minutes and 500 or unlimited texts.

So whether you’re running a one-man operation or a large corporation there are options to suit your needs and those of your employees, who’ll be more productive than ever with the help of 4G.
