The 4G Apple iPhone 5C Has Landed

The 4G Apple iPhone 5C comes in 5 bright colours.

Apple iPhone 5C

The new blue coloured iPhone 5C

The iPhone 5C is a totally new direction for Apple as it is their first venture into the cheaper and colourful smartphone market. It breaks new ground for Apple and we expect to see this theme continued when Apple launch the iPhone 6.

iPhone 5C – new colours

The iPhone 5C becomes the first iPhone to wander from the existing standard colour range and comes in white, pink, yellow, blue or green. Neat. The form and shape is the same as the iPhone 5 but comes with a twist. It now comes with a plastic home button which adds to the cheaper overall feel and look for this edition of the iPhone.

We expect the Apple iPhone 5C to go head to head with the colourful range of Nokia Lumia smartphones and the battle will be intense.

Apple iPhone 5S

Specification – iPhone 5C

Not a lot of movement here. The iPhone 5C comes with the same Apple A6 processor as the iPhone 5 and also with the same 4 inch 1136 x 640 touch-screen display. If you buy the iPhone 5C you will still get a very powerful smartphone with the bonus of loads of colour.

iPhone 5C Features

The iPhone 5C is really an iPhone 5 all dressed up. It doesn’t come with any new features unlike its newly launched counterpart the iPhone 5S which boasts a fingerprint scanner and other goodies. Find out more on the iPhones 5S in our post.

The main game changing feature is that it now comes 4G LTE connectivity which will catch everyone’s attention. 4G connectivity and bright colours. Hit me.

iOS7 Included

In terms of software features the great news is that iOS7 comes loaded on the iPhone 5C and 5S. This is a mighty inclusion and to get a handle on the coming advantages read here. So what the iPhone 5C misses out in terms of a physical up date can likely be cancelled out by the improvements iOS 7 brings. More on iOs 7 here.

Battery life

The Apple iPhone 5C comes with additional performance in the battery life stakes. Both the talk time and standby times have been improved for the iPhone 5C over the iPhone 5.

Talk time has increased to 10 hours from 8 hours and standby time has been increased to 250 hours from 225 hours. These figures are relating to 3G usage.

iPhone 5C Release Date and price

The iPhone 5C will be ready to buy soon – in fact as soon as the 20th September. As you may expect you won’t get this for a bargain price and in-fact comes in at the higher end price of £469 SIM free.

That price gets you the entry level 16GB edition while the 32GB version comes in at £549. Surprisingly, this makes the 32GB version more expensive than the Galaxy S4 and the same price roughly as the 16GB iPhone 5S.

Apple buyers now face a tough decision of which version to buy. This should be helped when we post our iPhone 5S and 5C reviews and comparison articles.

High prices indeed but we here at 4G expect to see them fly off the shelves at a rapid speed.
